Both cameras are equally rugged with the lighter D7000 providing dual SD card slots as opposed to the CF and SD card slots on the D300S. While CF cards may be more important to some professionals, the convenience of SD/SDHC/SDXC cards is starting to win over many others. This is especially true with the faster and more durable high end cards in the market. Not everyone would agree though and more so if you have lots of expensive CF cards already.
