Canon 50mm Lens – It Can Be A Heartbreaker

asked:

If there is one lens every photographer needs, it is a Canon 50mm lens. I have had more than one in my camera bag.

My research is complete (I hope) and conclusive. You can’t bounce a Canon 50mm lens off the conrete and expect it to perform well afterwards.

I hope I don’t get emotional as I relate the story here.

I knew early on that I needed a 50mm as part of my kit, but price was a concern, so I purchased an f/1.8. You may be familiar with that one. It is extremely inexpensive at about $100. It has a great reputation for quality, in spite of its plastic construction. I planned to take good care of it, so plastic was not a concern for me.What happened could have happened to anyone. In fact, I had read of a similar incident only a few days BEFORE my own accident. I simply picked up my camera case and threw it over my shoulder. Except I had forgotten to zip it shut. My treasured lens went flying, landing on the concrete walk. I went into mourning over the loss of a dear friend.

I had to do something to bring my world back into perspective, so, naturally I bought another lens. But this time, I upgraded to a Canon 50mm f/1.4. I paid more than $350 for that sweet lens. And it was worth every penny. Part of the reason for buying the better model was for the better lens construction. The plastic lens had shattered, so I figured the metal casing of the f/1.4 model would provide better results in case of another accident.

Nikon D300 Digital SLR Camera Review

Al.O. asked:

Nikon D300 – A Professionals Favorite

The Nikon D300 is another great camera from Nikon and a part of the semi-professional DSLR group. This camera has a lot of features that are up to date compared to its predecessor the D200. The camera features upgraded image censor along with a new VGA 3-inch display and this camera has live view as option when taking pictures.

Nikon went with the DX image censor on this DSLR. The picture quality produced by this camera is a little better than the Canon 40D but it’s the same as the Sony A700. The D300 camera produces 12 mega pixels and 51 focal points from its auto focus sensor. When you use this camera you have two ways for taking pictures you can look through the viewfinder or you can use the 3-inch VGA display in live mode. The viewfinder shows 100% of the image so if that’s what you prefer you won’t be missing anything. If you choose to use the display it’s a good option too with it being VGA the picture it produces is clean and crisp.

Conclusion

The D300 has only minor flaws but it’s still a good camera for shooting either fast or normal action photos, this camera takes 6 frames per second. The major thing about this camera is the price compared to the competition its almost 50% more money. The trade off when you buy the cheaper cameras from the competition is you don’t get as many features as you would find in the D300.

The D300 is priced at $1,799.

Nikon D300 Features and Specifications

Camera Reviews: Nikon D5000 Digital SLR Camera (with 18-55mm lens)

These are tough times. And many of us are feeling it in our wallets. But .. No matter how tough times are, we can't forget the basics. And the subject definitely is one of the basics. And, without the basics taken care of, how can you get started?
Below is one of the best articles we have ever read on the subject. It lays everything out nicely, it's easy to read, and, understand, it touches on all of the key issues, and, best of all, when you have finished reading it, you will definitely know which is a very good direction to take given your circumstances.

Lucy Thatcher asked:

The Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is the much anticipated replacement model to the wonderful Nikon D80 that was considered to be a top-of-the-line model for quite a long time. Overall, the D5000 did live up to all the hype and expectations. For its price, this model comes with an impressive feature kit. It comes with an 18-55mm lens that is very sharp and has good focus. It uses a 12.3MP image sensor.

The Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is also extremely fast. From a cold start, it is ready to take its first shot is just 0.2 seconds. It shot-to-shot time is at just 0.5 seconds and a typical shutter lag time of 0.3 seconds. The only other model (in its class) in the market that matches this speed is the Canon EOS Rebel T1i.

The quality of the images taken on the Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is extremely good. The images were well saturated and bright. The colors were also very accurate (realistic). The quality of the images was also good at high ISOs. It can also record HD videos at 720p. Although acceptable, the quality of the HD videos were nothing much to shout about.

Another great feature on this model is the 2.7-inch rotating LCD display. It flips downwards and can be rotated at various angles, making it easier to take shots in odd positions. It can even be rotated inwards (facing the camera) so that you don’t need to use a protective plastic cover to prevent it from scratching. The only downside to it is that it is hard to view under bright sunlight. The Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera can also be used with the optional Nikon GPS device and also a built-in wireless flash control.

A Great Canon Rebel Portrait Lens Is Worth Its Weight In Gold

asked:

Let’s say you just got your very first DSLR and it’s a Canon Rebel. At this point you have developed into a pro in the eyes of others. Folks around you will jump to the conclusion that you are indeed a professional.

So what about portraits? What are the specifications for a Canon Rebel portrait lens?

If you are a photographer, there is not doubt that you will be called on to be a portrait at some point in your photo career. Even if it’s only your loved ones who takes it for granted that you are a fabulous portrait shooter. And these wonderful people will expect you to deliver for free.

It’s simply a well known fact. When individuals notice that beast of a dslr camera, they just suppose you happen to be a pro and you can take any kind of photo with superiority.

A little tip here, don’t tell them you just acquired that Canon Rebel. Hide behind your camera and allow them to believe what they want.

Listed below are the two main points to keep in mind for getting a decent ****** shot.

First, it is advisable to be from about 6 to 20 feet from the model you are shooting. Any closer than half a dozen feet and you will be experiencing some distortions in the body attributes.

Next, make sure you select as wide an aperture as possible, such as f/2.8 or f/4. A wide aperture will result in an excellent depth of field, and thus the plane of focus is restricted to two or three inches in front of and behind the primary focus region (meaning the face, and specifically the eye, in a portrait). The object of a small depth of field is a blurry background.

Nikon D40 Takes a Final Bow – Nikon D3000 Is In – Can It Outperform the Canon Rebel XSi

Have you just acquired the subject but are unsure how to get the best use out of it? Do you want one but don't know if it would be the right thing for you?

Have a look at the article below. We are sure it will point you in the right direction. Based on our feedback so far, it has helped hundreds of our readers. While you are here, have a look at some of the other articles as they, too, are filled with advice and tips on how to avoid the common mistakes.

Wayne Rasku asked:

Nikon’s D40 has been a truly great performer in the photography market. Its rise to the top of the market in the cheap DSLR market is due to the value that buyers felt they got when buying. It truly was a wonderful camera for beginning DSLR buyers. You can still get a D40, but they are no longer being manufactured, so the supply will run out before too long.

The Nikon D3000 has now been released, and it is already making its presence known in the camera market. There have been major upgrades from the D40, most notably from a 6.1 megapixel sensor in the D40 to 10.2 megapixels in the D3000. There have also been technology upgrades in the LCD, the image processing engine, and auto focus modes. Overall, cameras are getting “smarter” with each release. So it is becoming easier to take flawless photos when selecting the right scene mode. At the time of this article, the user rating at Amazon.com is perfect. Not one reviewer has listed a negative about their new D3000.

Canon‘s direct competition to the D3000 is the Canon Rebel XSi (aka 450D). They have very similar specifications and features, but the Rebel XSi has been on the market for a year and a half already.

The Colorful Pentax K-X – A Cheap Dslr Camera With Great Value

asked:

When you consider moving up from a point and shoot to a semi-professional digital SLR model, consider the Pentax K-x. It is a true contender in the entry level “cheap DSLR camera” class.

In spite of being recognized by the camera review sites as one of the best models in its category, Pentax K-x definitely falls into the Cheap DSLR Camera category, starting at a price tag of UNDER $650, which includes the 18-55mm Kit Lens.

In addition to having a really well-built model, Pentax has taken a strong move and marketed this little gem in colors!

What camera carrying photographer worth his salt would carry around a RED DSLR… or BLUE? And if you are purchasing in Japan, you can discover more than enough colors to match a total clothing collection.

My Goodness! What could the Pentax people be thinking? What became of to the unspoken “Black Only” rule for high-end cameras?

It’s kind of like a man wearing pink. If you are at ease in your maleness, it works.

Review Of The New Rebel T3i From Canon

asked:

The newest Digital SLR, the Rebel T3i

The EOS rebel t3i is an entry level DSLR introduced by Canon in March 2011.  For those of you familiar with Canon’s lineup, the T3i was designed to replace Canon’s aging T2i model.  In terms of features, the T3i sits comfortably in between the T2i and the D60 model.  I’ll give you all the technical specs below, but first I want to do a real review and let you the pros and cons of this camera.

So who is this camera for?  There are a few category of camera buyers that the Canon Rebel EOS is designed for and should definitely read this review.

The average camera user: used to a classic point-and-click but looking for better quality pictures and more options for creativity The buyer considering the lower end T2i or the higher end 60D but wondering if this new model has all the features they really need The buyer looking for an entry-level DSLR, but wants to make sure they get good value for their money The photographer looking for a camera that can grow and be upgraded- one allowing customization of lenses, filters, and other features Where the Rebel T3i differs from the Canon Rebel T2i and the 60D

Canon EOS 50D versus Canon Rebel T2i – How Do You Choose Which is Best

asked:

Are you wanting to come to a decision concerning a dslr for private use? It could get complicated, right?

What about the difference between Canon‘s latest rave, the Canon Rebel T2i vs EOS 50D?

Let’s start with cost, because that is a good starting place.

Apples to apples – body only (no lens included), you may get canon’s Rebel T2i ($875) for around $125 less than a Canon EOS 50D ($999). In fact, since the development of the Canon EOS 7D, the price tag on the 50D has dropped considerably, however, there is more for you to consider

Despite the fact that the canon Rebel T2i is suggested as an “basic” dslr, the features rival and also exceed the 50D in several areas. It’s kind of difficult to think of the T2i like a camera simply for newbies in the SLR photography marketplace. There are lots of pro and semi-pro photogs that are getting one for a back up to their more professional product.

The primary advantages of the Canon Rebel T2i vs EOS 50D:

1. Video – this function is completely lacking in the 50D. And the T2i has improved dramatically over it’s elder brother (T1i). The recording is pretty darn excellent, although it is not quite just like a dedicated video camera. However it truly is an advantage to have both still and video in the exact same camera.

Pentax K-7 or K-5 – What About The Newest Pentax DSLR

asked:

Pentax is moving backwards when the remaining digital SLR kingdom is going forward. The newest edition of Pentax mid-level DSLR is the K-5; the elder version is the Pentax K-7. It doesn’t make sense . Why isn’t it a higher number than the previous 1? Go figure.

Far more important than the name are the upgrades. Is this brand new camera worthy of your interest? And, by the way, which one has the higher user rating? Far more on that later.

Pentax is declaring that the K-5 is really a “refinement” of the K-7. We normally think of this as upgrade. Another Pentax anomaly. Whatever.

The upgrades… OK, refinements, are in some predicted areas.

1st, the CMOS sensor has improved from 14.6-megapixels to 16.3-megapixels. There is an boost in the continuous shooting rate from 5.2 frames per second to 7 frames per second. ISO has been refined to go all the way up to 51,200 instead of a paltry 6400. There has also been an increase from the 12-bit RAW bit depth to 14-bit. Video recording has also been improved to full 1920x1080p at 25 fps as opposed to 1536x1024p (they were the only ones with that size video which was rather unusual).??

A lot of cameras are including in-camera HDR now. But the Pentax men and women have somehow added automatic image alignment so that you’ll be able to shoot while hand-holding your camera.

Choosing A DSLR Camera – Some Considerations

It's not surprising many people are looking for information on the subject when it's such a common issue for so many, yet, good information is hard to find. That's why we have gathered everything you need to know, right here.

The article below goes directly to the heart of the matter and explains all sides of the issue. We hope it answers your particular questions.

We strive to keep our information up-to-date so that you can find everything you need to know, right here, on our website. Our researchers probe all the key media wires and inside sources to bring you the news while it is happening. Find it here and be the first to know.

Janet Ashby asked:

There are a wide range of options and features available for DSLR (digital single lens reflex) cameras and it can be confusing if you are buying this type of camera for the first time. This guide will help you decide which features are important to you and hopefully help you to choose your ideal DSLR camera.

Price

A major factor in your decision is, of course, the price. DSLR cameras start at about $400 and can be as much as $8000 for a top of the range camera. A camera of between $400 to $1000 would probably be a good choose for a newcomer. Lenses tend to be expensive and can cost more than the camera body do make sure you take this into account when you make your budget.

Format Size

There are four format sizes at the moment for 35mm DSLR cameras.

Full Frame

This format, with a sensor size of sensor size is 36mm x 24mm, is found on most higher end cameras and is the same size as that used in 35mm film cameras.

APS-C

On a Canon camera this format has a 15mm x 22.5mm sensor and on a Nikon 15.6mm x 23.7mm. This format is used by most DSLR cameras except some higher end cameras and Olympus makes. Nikon call it a DX format.

APS-H

This format is only found in a few cameras such as the Canon EOS 1D MkIII and has a 18.7mm x 28.7mm sensor.

Four Thirds

This is a smaller format at 13.5mm x 18mm and is found on Olympus and Panasonic cameras. The aspect ratio is 3:4 unlike other cameras with an aspect ratio of 2:3.

All of the formats will give a good print out up to 11″ x 14″ which is the largest most amateur photographers will usually need. Most cameras below about $1000 dollars use the Four Thirds or APS-C format so the choice is usually dictated by the price rather than performance.

Image Stabilization Systems

Systems for image stabilisation vary between manufacturers. Some systems are mounted in the camera body others on the lens itself. Nikon and Canon use a lens based system and use gyros on the lens to sense movement and keep the optical groups stable. Gyros mounted on the camera body are used by Sony, Panasonic and Olympus in a stabilisation system called a sensor shift. The sensor shifts to compensate for any movement. Although both systems perform equally as well the lens mounted systems need to be included on every lens which adds to the cost. In addition not all lenses have the system included especially prime lenses under 200mm.

Size and Weight

Cheaper cameras tend to be smaller and lighter although, as no DSLR camera is going to fit into a pocket anyway, the size is not of primary important.

Pixel Count

DSLR camera start at about 6 mega pixels (MP) and can be as much as 22 MP for a high end camera. The pixel count will dictate the size that a print can be blown up to and you need to decide how large you would like your prints before you decide on which model to buy. 240 pixels per inch will give a very good quality print so a 6 MP camera will be adequate for a high quality 8″ x 10″ print.

If you need larger prints a 10 MP camera will be capable of producing a good print at a size of 11″ x 14″. A top of the range camera with a pixel count of 22 MP will give excellent 11″ x 14″ prints.

ISO Settings

ISO ranges between 100 and 1600 are found on most lower end cameras. Mid range cameras may have settings up to 6400 and a high end camera can reach as high as 25,500 and as low as 50. Most DSLR cameras will give pictures with low noise at ISO settings between 100 and 800 but the noise dramatically increases above this. The noise at the higher levels can vary considerably between models so, if possible, try to see images taken at higher setting with the cameras you are considering.

Noise

All digital images will have some noise which will be more noticeable at higher ISO settings. Noise comes from the electronics and sensor when the digital signal is produced from the analog signal. All DSLR cameras have noise filtering systems but this works less well above an ISO setting of about 800. Noise reduction softens the image so try to see images taken in low light if you will be using the higher range ISO settings.

Autofocus

Autofocus systems vary a great deal between manufacturers. All auto focus systems work well for static images but can vary a great deal for moving subjects, especially in low light. Check reviews of specific cameras for information on how well auto focus works for the model you are considering.

Canon Vs Nikon – Again – Canon Rebel T2I Or Nikon D90

asked:

The camera world is all about comparisons. If you look at user forums, you will see that each camera is compared to every other camera that has similar features.

And of course, the Canon – Nikon debate is at the top of many of these arguments.. er.. comparisons.

Most recently, there is a discussion about the merits of the new Canon Rebel T2i (aka 550D) versus almost any other model including some of its own siblings. However, with this writing, we will take a peek at some similarities and/or differences to compare the Canon Rebel T2i vs the Nikon D90, since the Nikon also boasts having video capabilities, as does the Canon model.

At the top of everyone’s list is the sensor size. In this case we compare a brand new Canon 18 megapixel sensor with a Nikon 12.9 megapixel sensor.

When we discuss pixels we generally think that more is better. However, this is not always the case. When you get to a certain level in the pixel count, you need to take into consideration the quality of the pixels rather than the quantity. Canon has added an additional 3 megapixels to the same size sensor found in the T1i, and they have done a good job of re-engineering the pixels so that they are of better quality. This has improved the image quality as well as the possible image size. But how many people actually print a photo that is 17 x 11.5? This is the size you could print at a resolution of 300 ppi (pixels per inch).

In comparison, the Nikon has a sensor size of 12.9 megapixels. Add to this a sensor that is actually physically larger than the Canon sensor, and you have the possibility of an image that prints with better quality.

Canon Vs Nikon – Digital SLR Camera Comparison

Thanks for visiting our the subject website. You will find the latest information, discussions about the pros and cons of each aspect, and also, a large community of readers who regularly share their ideas and opinions on the latest developments. It is as important now as it ever was to examine the issue carefully. After all, without the facts, how can we know we are making the right choice?

We recently came across the article below and we have posted it on our site because it addresses some of the unanswered questions and raises some new ones at the same time. If you like what you see here, be sure to come back and, let your friends know.

Brady Mcintyre asked:

It is exigent to see the engineering of DSLR cameras before different the differences between to models.

Alikeness digital SLR cameras of Ravine and Nikon

These are not rightful rounded ‘bushel and wound’ units. The DSLR, momentary for Digital Unary Lense involuntary gives users the cognition to pass the render turn out the direct homophonic as what is seen finished the eye lense, or viewfinder.

In the ‘portion and enclose’ units, the pic portrayed in the viewfinder is not the corresponding as what move finished the direct organ. The viewfinder allotment is not inform of closing creation in tralatitious digital cameras. Thence, in the DSLR cameras, the images are the unvaried. Hence, the image taker module be able to assert a icon that testament lag out the similar as what is seen finished the viewfinder. This image makes situation taking often easier and writer accurate.

There are leash fundamental categories for both Ravine and Nikon for SLR digital categories. First with the unskilled state machines, the Canon Reb XS (1000D) and also the Nikon D60 occur into that accumulation. There are umpteen differences between the Arise XS and Nikon D60. If you ***** sr. Canon lenses you requirement to use with it, the Nikon D60 faculty acquisition with most of them; patch the experienced Nikon lenses may not succeed with the Nikon D60.

The close assemblage of these cameras is for much grownup use. These are ordinarily large and many pricey. They enjoin many expertise to use effectively. Cameras that victory into this assemblage are the Ravine Disloyal T1i 500D as healed as the Nikon D 5000. The Ravine Recusant T1i and the D5000 are actually real confusable in their capabilities; tho’ the ISO comprise varies. The D5000 compass is 100-6400 piece the T1i has a large ambit of 100-12800.

Finally, there is other category to compare digital SLR cameras. They fuse together individual of the features from each of the early categories. These can be victimised by amateur photographers who requirement to occupy many authority lineament pictures. In this accumulation, the Nikon D300 and Canon 50D would interact those needs. These are both real discriminating cameras and are near very in their features. There are a few impalpable differences; the Canon is actually ignitor at 29 oz than the Nikon at 32.6 oz. Also, the ISO reach is slightly distinct; the Ravine ISO boasts 100-12800 where the Nikon comprise is 100-6400.

Then, you should compare Nikon D7000 Digital Camera and Canon SX30IS Digital Camera

Canon Entry Level Digital SLR – Canon Rebel T2i or Canon Rebel XS

asked:

It’s time to move up a level in photography from a point and shoot model to a digital SLR. There are a few important things to know about the newest and most power-packed model, the Canon Rebel T2i vs the Canon Rebel XS, the time-tested basic model, before making your final decision.

Before taking on this comparison, consider the basic difference between a compact, or point and shoot digital camera and a digital SLR camera. Compact cameras are a totally different breed of camera, and if you have not owned anything else, there is going to be a major “aha” moment when you start taking pictures with your new supercharged digital SLR picture maker.

That’s right, a digital SLR will seem like it is a race car vs an old Chevy. Both will get you to your destination, but the race car will get you there with a lot more energy and style.

Point and shoot cameras have much smaller image sensors, usually resulting in lower quality pictures. You may never have noticed this until you compare the old with the new.

Canon Rebel T1i – A Sweet Entry Level DSLR

asked:

Digital SLR For Beginners – Canon Rebel T3i Is The Answer

Are you finding the information on the subject confusing? Perhaps you are finding much of the information contradictory? If so, you are not alone. That's the reason why we developed our website. We spent time trying to gather the facts for ourselves, unfortunately, what we found didn't help us make decisions at all.

Have a look at the article below. It presents the facts in such an easy language that we were able to understand it immediately. If it helps clear the fog for you, please let your friends know about our website, as it might be useful for them also.

Wayne Rasku asked:

Creative is the best description for this brand new Canon Rebel T3i (EOS 600D) DSLR camera.

With an eye to the new photographer who is moving into the DSLR population, Canon has added some features to an already power-packed package to make the Rebel T3i very alluring, particularly to those who have never handled a digital SLR camera.

There are a couple of really good reasons that many people have for buying their original digital SLR camera. The first reason is that you get such superior image quality when compared to the majority of point and shoot cameras. Using interchaneable lenses as different photo opportunities arise is also key as a motivation for acquiring that first digital SLR camera.

In the T3i you receive much of the same technology that is in in the older T2i, including the basic stuff like image sensor and processor. Outwardly, the only obvious difference is the articulating LCD screen. And inside, the hardware looks one and the same with the exact same image sensor and processor.

But the real added value in this new Rebel is the addition of creative possibilities, like “the Green Square.” On the top mode dial, there is a new button that is green, hence the name Green Square. When you set the camera on the Green Square, you actually give the camera full control. The new rebel will make some really important decisions about light and sharpness to give you the very best picture possible. And you don’t have to do anything but frame and shoot. Canon actually calls this new setting “Scene Intelligent Auto,” and it is the equivalent of “Intelligent Auto” on some compact digital models.

The actual role of Scene Intelligent Auto is to control of the photo output by making the right setting selections in the camera. The new owner can pick up this camera and take great pictures right away, without knowing much about digital SLR settings.

As good as that looks, there is even more. There is now a Basic+ selection in the Quick Control screen when the camera dial is set to Basic Zone modes. There are two different options to choose from once you access the Basic+ screen. You can choose Ambience settings or the Lighting/Scene Type settings. Once more, the camera makes use of the in-camera software to make important decisions concerning the settings for individual images, making you appear to be a real creative pro.

Knowing that this camera has all the same features as the more professional cameras should make the T3i very interesting to those who are considering their 1st digital SLR, particularly if the hope of moving up to a more professional camera is the ultimate goal.

The best part is that a novice photographer can feel much more comfortable knowing that he can “ease” into the digital SLR learning process. Getting the settings right, when in doubt, can be left up to the camera. Then time can be spent leisurely learning when the shots are not critical.

Canon has taken the pressure off by providing new photographers convenience along with professional features.

Beginners Digital SLR Cameras – 4 Entry Level DSLRs Top The List

Many people want to know more about the subject. Are you one of them? If so, you might find the following article helpful in your search for information. We hope you find some useful pointers.
Wayne Rasku asked:

The best digital SLR cameras for beginners may also be the least expensive ones. Even if the prospective buyer has deep pockets, the cheaper models also are the most user friendly.

Recommendations include models from Canon and Nikon, the two most popular digital slr manufacturers, but Pentax and Olympus are also make great beginner DSLRs.

Criteria for beginners’ models include great image quality, an easy to use menu, fast response of the camera to the photographer’s actions, a decent assortment of available lenses, and good support.

Choosing one of the more popular brands will necessarily lend itself to the support issue. You can go on numerous websites and forums to find the answers to your questions from like-minded photographers who are willing and able to give you the information you need.

Canon Rebel XSi Or T1i – Which Canon Rebel Should I Buy

asked:

Personally, I would choose the Canon Rebel XSi unless I had some extra cash that I did not know what to do with. And I have some excellent reasons. Canon has been at the top of the digital camera market, and in particular at the top of the DSLR market (along with Nikon) forever. Their Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras are all excellent. You could not make a mistake by purchasing any of them.

Even the lowest of the Canon DSLR line, the Canon Rebels, are rated very highly by all the camera review websites. While there are plenty of really good cameras to choose from other than a Canon, not every one of them is a great choice, and you would have to do some serious research before making your buying decision unless you had some inside information from a professional photographer friend. But buying a Canon DSLR is a no-brainer. They are all good. You will be really impressed with the quality of the images.

Canon Eos Digital Camera – Understand What Dslr Is The Most Valuable With Your Budget Range

Hello! You are now in the blog where you will find various articles, videos, links and photos that will surely spark your interest. This is a one stop website for all the information that you will need. There is a whole array of resources that are waiting to be discovered. Feel free to carry on reading and browse more articles like the one below. We have exciting resources that were gathered by our experts in the subject.
Stephen Waldo asked:

Ok You would want to understand a tad concerning the Canon EOS digital camera line?

Good! Then You’re at the proper location!

This is just what I’m going to carry out to suit your needs. I have put down 4 budget allowances that everyone will fall under. For every budget I have picked 1 digital camera which I believe is the best buy in that range.

Let me get right to it!

Less than $1,000: In a below $1,000 price range the selections are sort of limited. Also remember in this budget allowance that it could be worthwhile to you to select a cheaper camera body, and then invest that additional cash on a lens . An excellent lens will go a long ways in creating excellent photos.

But I digress, I suggest the Canon EOS Rebel Xti ($750) just because it’s really a striking camera. There exists a more recent model of this digital camera (EOS XSi), however this camera retained its price so nicely mainly because it’s just an incredibly top quality, trustworthy camera.

$1,000 – $2,000: The Canon EOS digital camera I suggest here is the Canon 50D ($1,150). This camera is an especially advanced quality for that value. What that’ll mean is actually you will get much higher-quality capabilities in this digital camera, while not paying the upper tier cost.

For instance, this particular Canon EOS digital camera is actually UDMA compatible, a commonly higher quality camera feature. Its also got a remarkably tremendous ISO selection, and an innovative automatic ISO feature that fits superbly. To put the gravy on the potatoes it is working with a DIGIC 4 processor.

$2,000 – $5,000: At this budget I advocate the Canon 5D Mark II ($2,500). The reason I propose this camera is, similar to the 50D, it is really basically a wonderful value. It has got almost all of the highlights of the 1Ds Mark III, which is a $6,000 digital camera, yet you’ll find it lower than 50 % the price.

You have Twenty one Megapixels, a full frame sensor, with a substantial ISO selection to top it all off . Not much bad to state with this camera.

More than $5,000: My digital camera I advocate at this point would be the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV ($5,800). This kind of model of camera is nearly faultless. It turned out incredibly well designed along with it’s obtained the very best image quality of just about any Canon EOS digital camera available on the market at the moment.

In addition to that, the AF program is unparalleled. Acquiring superb photographs has never had this much simplicity!

Anyways, that’s my price guide, but ultimately you have to choose for yourself.

Exactly how can you do that? Reading Amazon customer critiques only takes one so far, you have to find a web site that gives professional, quality testimonials on not only specifications.

Fortunately There is a internet site that really does just that. It’s got thorough information on every Canon EOS digital camera.

Also it’s got a number of guides to shopping for a new camera, created for both rookies plus much more advanced people. To top it all off you can discover exactly where to find the best prices on the internet.

I really suggest that you at least check it out, due to the fact I know that you are going to find out a lot.

Look it over: www.CanonCameraEOS.com

I Hope that aids you!

Raphael Chieza asked:

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are other brands beyond the big two of Canon and Nikon. However hard Sony tries to break into the market, it still feels very much like consumer electronics rather than professional equipment other than the A900/A850 but the stigma still applies. Pentax of course has a rich history in the camera world and when they are not playing all the colours in the rainbow, they do have some decent offerings. The Pentax K-5 is one of them and it’s interesting to see how it matches against the Nikon D7000.

Nikon D7000 vs. Pentax K-5 – The Key Differences

When I first saw the announcement of the Pentax K-5, I was immediately pleased that Pentax was not going to sell me this camera by offering me a ludicrous range of colours. What’s more, on closer inspection, the K-5 offers a set of very decent specs which are basically matching those of the Nikon D7000. Some of the key differences are:

AF system – The Nikon has a new AF system which offers 39 AF points which is a big step up from the Nikon D90 as well as the Pentax K-5. Both offer 9 cross-types sensors in the centre so it’s not a landslide victory for the D7000. Furthermore, being a new AF system, it will take some serious field testing of the production version before we can categorically affirm it, even if Nikon has a better reputation than the often erroneous Canon.

Burst Speed – While the Nikon is slower with a 6fps burst speed against the 7fps of the Pentax, the D7000 can go on like forever (over 15s) in burst mode shooting JPEGs while the K-5 can only manage about 3s. Again, it will depend on what kind of shooting you do. Will you actually keep the shutter pressed for long or would you like a little more speed in a shorter burst?

HD movie – Although the K-5 offers Full HD in 25fps, that’s the only we can say for it when the D7000 offers more frame rates in 720p quality as well as the AF-F in movie focusing feature.

ISO Sensitivity – Nikon may have started the game for obscenely high ISO sensitivity range in their DSLR but in this case, they are probably saving the higher numbers for the next model up. Still very formidable by any standards, the expanded ISO 25600 of the D7000 gets trumped by the extra stop of the k-5 at ISO 51200. However, the image quality of the images at those settings will be the real decider for this point so the Pentax fans out there should not be celebrating just yet…

Memory Card slots – Still probably one of the most useful feature (for the more serious shooter anyway) in many DSLR models would be the dual card slot. Nikon is the only brand that is offering this feature in its non professional bodies and against the single slot of the Pentax K-5, the D7000 is the clear winner. Furthermore, the support of SDXC cards on the Nikon D7000 is likely to help increase its product life as well.

Weather Sealing – Now both the Nikon and Pentax are being sold with decent weather sealing but perhaps the Pentax is a touch better. In this case though, my opinion may be biased through the marketing of Pentax and their stressing of their 77 weather seals. Maybe I should get Kai to do another durability test on these two cameras to be sure.

The Price Difference! – In today’s world, there aren’t too many people who could say this does not matter. With a SRP price tag of about US$400 cheaper on the Nikon D7000, I can’t honest see who would buy the K-5. Sure, it’s a great camera but I know what accessories I would be better off investing in with the price savings I could make. So I guess the winner would be the Nikon D7000. Still, SRP don’t really mean much anymore so we will have to wait for the actual market price when both are available. Pentax, if you are reading this, please reduce the price to below that of the D7000and I’ll come back and look again.
